How reading time estimator works
Reading time is the word count divided by your reading speed (words per minute). The average silent reading rate is about 200-250 wpm, while reading aloud is slower at roughly 130-150 wpm. This tool lets you set both rates so you can plan scripts, presentations and blog posts.
Enter your text and a words-per-minute value. The estimator counts the words, divides by your rate, and reports the time in seconds, minutes and a friendly label like "2m 30s". A separate speaking time uses a lower rate for talks and voiceovers.
Everything runs locally in your browser, so you can paste a draft and watch the estimate update live as you edit. No text leaves your device.
