How fuel cost with stops calculator works
This calculator totals fuel cost across a trip with several legs or stops. Enter one line per leg with its distance, your vehicle's fuel efficiency, and the fuel price, then press Calculate. Each leg can have a different distance, efficiency, and price, so you can model refueling at cheaper stations along the route.
Units are shared across every leg and selected at the top. Distance converts between miles and kilometers (1 mile = 1.609344 km) and fuel volume between gallons and liters (1 gallon = 3.78541 liters). For MPG, fuel used is distance divided by MPG; for L/100km, fuel used is distance times efficiency divided by 100. The cost is fuel used times the price in the matching unit.
The result shows the total trip cost, total distance in both miles and kilometers, total fuel used in both gallons and liters, and the cost per mile and per kilometer, plus a per-leg breakdown. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
